WaterColor, Florida, established 1999 (Staff Photo) |
During our trips to the Florida Panhandle each fall, we enjoy our visits to Cerulean Park in WaterColor, along Highway 30A.
WaterColor is an unincorporated master-planned community near Seagrove Beach, adjacent to Seaside. Destin lies about 25 miles west, and the beaches of Panama City to the east.
It is a well maintained garden, flush with brilliant flowers ... and lots of Monarch Butterflies, migrating south to Mexico in November. The garden is masterfully done, and features a variety of annuals, perennials, blooming vines, and ground covers.
The park is linear in design, along WaterColor East and West Boulevards; parking is available along its length. A crushed gravel path makes for easy walking and viewing of the flowers and butterflies. Various water features enhance the quiet paths, lined with wooden benches. There is no admission charge.
Included below are a few photo and video highlights of our recent visits. We highly recommend a visit to this fine garden when in Destin or staying in one of the resorts or condos along Historic Highway 30A.
