The Clouded Sulphur butterfly (Colias philodice) is a common, widely distributed species in the United States and much of Canada. Sometimes called the "Common Sulphur", it is a frequent visitor to fields, meadows, lawns and roadsides.
It shares some coloration and markings with the larger Cloudless Sulphur. The wings are yellow with black marginal borders. Males have a solid black border, and females have yellow spots in the border.
