Melissa Blue Butterfly

The Melissa Blue is a small, bluish butterfly. The uppersurface of the male is blue, and the female is brown with submarginal orange trim on both wings.

It can be found in western North America, from Canada to Mexico, in prairies, dry meadows, alfalfa fields and weedy areas.

Wing spread: 7/8" - 1 3/8"

Host Plants: Lupines and legumes
