The Nokomis Fritillary (Speyeria nokomis) is a beautiful, medium-sized butterfly found mainly in the lower parts of the western United States. The upperside of male is brownish orange, while the upperside of the female is black.
Its range includes East-central California, Nevada, Utah, and Colorado south through Arizona and New Mexico, and down into Mexico.
