Promethea Moth

The Promethea Moth (Callosamia promethea) is one of the biggest moths, with a wingspan of up to 3.75". Female wings are dark brown to reddish-brown, while males are black.

It ranges across the eastern half of the United States and into Quebec.

Hosts include spicebush, lilac, sassafras, tulip tree and others.
