The Veined Ctenucha Moth (Ctenucha venosa) can be found in Arizona, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and southern Nevada. Its range also extends south to Mexico, Guatemala, Panama and Venezuela.
This beautiful moth features a fuzzy, red head, black antennae, an iridescent bluish/black body and three bold golden veins on the forewings. While most moths are strictly nocturnal, the Veined Ctenucha Moth can often be seen in daylight hours.
It is bout 1.0 inches in length.
